Onward Dallas

"Onward" is the theme of a campaign that seeks to fund a wonderful youth camp on unique property at Lake Texoma and to provide funds for acquiring real estate to plant two new churches in this diocese -- two projects that will soon bring hundreds of young people and young families into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

As the Strategic Plan for the Diocese of Dallas envisions a diocese focused on growth and mission, it has charted an exciting course for the Episcopal Church in northeast Texas for the next decade. Two specific initiatives currently require special funding. We believe that effective funding for these aspects of the Strategic Plan this year will increase the ability of the Episcopal Church to grow and prosper in northeast Texas for decades to come.

A CAMPAIGN THAT FOCUSES ON CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, AND FUTURE GENERATIONS

New churches planted in growing suburbs bring young families into a Christian community and encourage children to grow in faith.

New churches attract new, young Christians into the Body of Christ.

All Saints Camp at Lake Texoma will inspire and teach young people. Christian camp experiences are powerful builders of faith. Jesus understood the importance of children growing up in the faith and reminded us to "let the little children come to me."

Two-thirds of all Christians discovered their faith before they were 18 years old.

URGENCY: CHILDREN AND FAMILIES CAN'T WAIT

This generation of young families in North Texas needs the Church. God commands us to love our children and bring them to know Christ. West McKinney neighborhoods need a strong Episcopal Church.

All Saints Camp offers our diocese a unique resource for ministry: Summer camps will deepen young people's faith. Every congregation can use its facilities for retreats, gatherings. We cannot afford to wait years for the larger church's issues to be resolved; young people and young families need the transforming power of Jesus Christ in their lives today.

GOD'S CALL TO US

The Bible is filled with examples of God's people called to action. In our time, in this place, bringing young families and young people to Jesus Christ is our call. This campaign brings us all together around a unifying project that we can all agree on. This campaign focuses on mission.
